Go to Setup > Payroll settings > Payroll categories > select the local tax pay category (Figure 1).

Examples of local pay categories listed above (Pennsylvania EIT municipal resident tax and Ohio City tax.

Review the “Tax level:”,  “State:”, and  “Type:” selection. In the “Type:” field from the drop-down list, select the local tax type. Depending what type was selected you need to make a selection for additional information such as “County:” or “City:”, “Municipality ID:”, or/and “School district ID:”. Based on the selection of the location code will automatically populate the required fields.
